As a Government Information Specialist, you will:
Study proposed legislation and/or regulations involving FOIA or PA functions for impact on NE programs. Review reports and studies involving FOIA/PA to ensure that NE user requirements are met and appropriate rules and regulations are utilized. Serve as NE's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Privacy Act (PA) Specialist in concert with the NE FOIA Manager. Coordinate with other NE-20 functions such as travel and procurement to execute federal funds in accordance with the conference regulations. Maintain the Nuclear Energy Conference Information System (NECIS) to track and manage conference attendance and costs. Serve as lead Conference Point of Contact representing all NE sites including Idaho Operations Office and the Idaho National Laboratory. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Analyzing FOIA requests, interpreting requirements and regulations as related to nuclear energy programs and issues. Preparing position papers, reports, and similar material on nuclear energy program matters, and organizing and delivering reports for managers to encourage acceptance of findings and recommendations. Analyzing and management of conference data as required by the Department of Energy's Conference Management Tool. Analyzing and executing Federal funds for travel and procurement in accordance with Conference regulations. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and a thorough knowledge of research and development and regulatory program administration to evaluate the content/intent of new or modified legislation and Federal regulations for projected impact on NE information management program and for the identification of areas for amendments to or new NE rules. Knowledge and understanding of the substance of NE's operating programs and their interrelationships. Skill and ability to independently acquire information about NE programs and activities to analyze, select, and present information in a form suitable for the intended recipient or audience. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include:
volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
