Information Technology Specialist

As an Information Technology Specialist, you will:
Assist in developing the Energy Information Technology Services (EITS) Service Desk and Application Support Office standards, policies, plans, and procedures. As recommendations for new initiatives are approved, provide direction and oversight to the teams tasked to develop and implement them. Continually assesses industry best practices to identify new and emerging incident management concepts, technologies, techniques, and tools that offer good potential for successful exploitation and application within the Office, especially to program elements that experience has demonstrated, cannot be addressed using available means and resources. Provide continuing technical oversight assistance for ongoing Service Desk and Customer Support programs and activities. Participate actively in all scheduled and impromptu meetings and reviews, at which the office is a stakeholder. Your work experience must be IT related; your work experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification). You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; and is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the competency requirements above, a qualified candidate's online application must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
oAssessing reports of service provider performance for encompassing technical data concerning incidents time and cost incurred in reaching a resolution.oAnalyzing service provider performance data to identify summaries, trends, and problem areas, requiring immediate or long term attention.oProviding input for briefings and reports, that could affect system designs, business practices, resource allocations, or customer relations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
