Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC)

As a GS-2210-14 Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
Provide security engineering support to assist in the deployment of Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation CDM security tools and appliances and their implementation and management. Provide engineering support for the DOE ICAM Initiative which provides credentialing, digital identity, authorization, authentication, privilege management, cryptography, auditing and reporting services and supports the DOE OneID program. Manage the IT Service Management and Customer Advocacy Office program portfolio, guiding initiatives from the initiating phase through to the planning, executing and monitoring, and controlling phases and, eventually, the closing phase following the prescribed Demand Management process. Provide oversight of nationwide operational support for the OCIO's EITS infrastructure, including Active Directory (AD), Exchange messaging, mobility services, Citrix, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Network (SAN), Windows, Unix, Linux, and cloud-provisioned services; Oracle and SQL Server DBMS; infrastructure supporting DOE corporate financial, procurement, and data warehouse/portal applications; and Data Center Services for Application Hosting and Housing Provide design, implementation, and migration support for the IT Modernization efforts in moving from DOE's current on premise architecture toward a modern architecture that leverages cloud-based service providers to include Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Microsoft Office 365, as well as other current and future cloud services providers SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Identifying, evaluating and deploying advanced cyber security capabilities to providing support to enterprise security initiatives. Developing functional and technical requirements to automate components of new services. Providing technical oversight in order to build out of required server-based information for use in communications technology infrastructure Developing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, applications, and data. Knowledge of Microsoft's Enhanced Security Administration Environment (ESAE) Forest Design Approach to Active Directory design. Knowledge of advancements and current trends in information management, cybersecurity and technologies within Departmental, Federal, and private sectors. Knowledge of identity and access management methods, tools, and procedures, including provisioning and de-provisioning of identities, role-based access control (RBAC) based on identity categorization, single-sign on, federated authentication methods of on premise and cloud hosted applications, multi-factor authentication, data governance, and regulatory compliance and auditing. Knowledge of advancements and current trends in information management, cybersecurity and technologies within Departmental, Federal, and private sectors. Knowledge of the processes and procedures across the ITIL lifecycle to include Service Strategy, Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operations and Continual Service Improvement. Knowledge and application of Inputs, Techniques and Outputs involved in the Project Management Lifecycle as prescribed by Project Management Book of Knowledge to include operating with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include:
volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
