As a Security Specialist (Nuclear), you will:
Serve as the Environmental Management (EM) expert and point of contact for safeguards and security issues across program office and manages these issues at assigned field sites and HQ. Develop classification guides, personnel access controls, need to know criteria, physical storage and control, security education, funding and schedules, and information control and disposition. Identify and perform annual DOE training that improves overall security. Prepare presentations, briefing materials, papers and reports. Represent EM and participates in technical forums, interagency meetings, workshops, national conferences to formulate policy and national strategies for safeguard and security issues impacting EM's facilities/assets. Coordinate related Federal and State programs, influence and maintains awareness of other federal plans and activities impacting DOE programs and plans, evaluate and assess technical reports, plans, present issues problems, impacts and solutions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent at the GS-13 level (or equivalent) grade level. Specialized experience at the grade level is defined as:
Experience in developing and managing the development of security policy and procedures for classification, declassification, and protection of classified national defense and other sensitive information originated or controlled by Federal agencies. Experience as an advocacy for security policy, field implementation, technical assistance to field and/or headquarters officials assisting in promoting integration with safety/security and emergency preparedness; having identified, planned, managed and developed security program policy and guidance; successfully identified and performed agency specific training and developed position papers and training to improve security programs. Ability to identify training needs; provides constructive reinforcement; coaches others on how to perform tasks; acts as a mentor; helps others learn through formal or informal methods. Ability to collaborate, interact with internal and external customers to build coalitions and liaison networks that support and advance the mission of security and emergency management. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include:
volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
