As a GS-0018-15, Safety and Occupational Health Manager, you will:
Conduct assessments, reviews and special technical analyses and studies at DOE's nuclear and non-nuclear facilities and laboratories. Lead teams in the collection and analysis of worker safety and health data, assessments and other technical and management data associated with worker safety and health safety programs to identify and analyze hazardous conditions, exposures, and safety practices. Serve as an advisor to Headquarters and field management officials on all issues related to oversight of worker safety and health programs, developing and formulating recommendations for ES&H approaches to this critical effort. Develop and manage the Department's incorporation of appropriate worker safety and health data collection into the ES&H oversight activities for all Departmental elements and coordinates the requirements for worker safety and health data in the comprehensive agency-wide ES&H oversight program. Maintain awareness of current worker safety and health program measurement techniques, and other related research programs outside of the agency. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Conducting assessments and studies, and validating findings to ensure conclusions are based on facts. Reviewing corrective actions plans and conducting follow-up evaluations to determine the adequacy of implementation of corrective actions. Analyzing trends in worker safety and health issues at individual sites across the DOE complex to establish performance baselines and identify future appraisal activities. Developing worker safety and health assessment methodologies, approaches, study designs, and analytical tools which enhance applications to the scientific and practical needs of the Department's long-term worker safety and health program. Knowledge of organizational development related to functions, procedures, and legislation of worker safety and health programs and knowledge of related disciplines and subject matter areas and working knowledge of engineering and scientific work to serve as a technical authority with respect to the full range of work associated with the conduct of assessments, inspections, and special technical analyses and studies, as well as to provide advice on how to improve programs Department-wide. Working knowledge of Integrated Safety Management policy, guidance and implementation. Knowledge of DOE, OSHA, EPA, NRC, or other agency or organization worker safety and health regulations, policies, and procedures in order to determine and measure conformance with required and accepted practices applicable to the design, construction, and operations of DOE facilities. Ability to lead, guide, direct and advise multidisciplinary teams engaged in the conduct of assessments and inspections and in the analysis and study of worker safety and health programs. Ability to extend and modify existing techniques and develop new approaches for use of other safety and health specialists in solving a variety of worker safety and health problems. Skill and ability to represent the agency in oversight matters in interagency meetings, conferences, and/or task groups. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
