Have the responsibility for program advocacy for environmental management and preparedness policy development, field implementation and technical assistance to headquarters and field officials.
Serves as the agency technical representative and national expert
n safeguards and security with Congressional staff
members of Congress; other Federal agencies such as Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI),
Department of Homeland Security, and Department of Defense; state and local government officials; national laborites; contractors; and national organizations.
Serves in a liaison capacity with the Offices of Intelligence (IN-1), Non proliferation and National Security , Office of Independent Enterprise Assessment and the Office of Environment Health, Safety, and Security as the program advocate on the development of safeguard and security policy, providing a single point of contact for outside organizations .
Monitors the development of departmental safeguards and security preparedness directives and policies, analyzes the impacts of the directives and policies on EM, and prepares and presents technical briefings on the issues for the Assistant Secretary and others on the EM management team.
Develops the overall planning, management and direction of the assigned safeguards and security preparedness cross-cutting program activities, ensuring compliance with applicable Federal laws and
regulations, and DOE Orders and policies.
Performs other technical duties as they are assigned.

The duties and responsibilities of this position require that the incumbent have access to
documents and/or material containing Secret
Restricted Data which are related to sensitive issues. Therefore, the position demands the highest degree of public trust and requires that the incumbent possess a DOE Q Clearance.
This position has also been designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to testing for illegal drug use. The selectee must test negative prior to being appointed to this
position and will be subject to random testing thereafter. Failure to pass or refusal to take
subsequent tests could result in non-selection or disciplinary action, up to and including
removal from the Federal service. A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
Specialized experience may include, but is not limited to, analyzing complex physical security systems, protective force capabilities, technical and policy issues associated with protective forces, and provide recommendations regarding the storage and protection of sensitive nuclear materials, and assessing security postures for nuclear materials.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
