Embedded Software Engineer is a hands-on position requiring experience developing software with hardware interfaces. The successful candidate will have a direct participation in requirements definition and design of software products and related custom tools. The candidate will participate in improving and creating software and tools that facilitate and automate the deployment of Zebra's RTLS (Real time location solution) products and software components.
Design and implement software of embedded systems from customer requirements through production release;
Design, develop, code, test and debug all software components.
Analyze and improve code for efficiency, stability, scalability, and customer usage.
Assist in system testing, product verification and validation.
Interface with the hardware design team to define interfaces.
Bachelor''s degree (MS preferred) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

coding experience required (Windows or Linux/Unix)

years developing with Java and/or Python
Experience with web technologies: HTML, CSS, javascript a plus
Experience with Linux rpm (install packages) a plus.
Experience reading schematics and data sheets.
Good communication skills and documentation skills.
