Position Description
Boeing''s Electronic and Information Solutions subsidiary Digital Receiver Technology (DRT) is seeking a Protocol Engineer to join their team in Germantown, MD. The selectee will develop real-time embedded software for DRT Software Defined Radio (SDR) products. Experience with advanced signal protocols is highly desired. Experience with multi-threaded programming, UDP/IP and TCP/IP programming, software configuration management and strong communications skills are highly desired. Development experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows operating system is desired.
This position requires:

Experience in Object Oriented (OO) software development, preferably with C+
and the C+
Standard Template Library (STL) and Java is highly desired. Experience with programming with the Python language is a plus. Preferred to have current Top Secret (TS) security clearance with current Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.

This position requires that you work out of Germantown, Maryland. Do you currently reside in the Germantown, Maryland area (where relocating would not be required) or are you willing to relocate at your own expense?
Typical Education/Experience
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor''s and 5 or more years'' experience, Master''s degree with 3 or more years'' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Other Job related information
Preferred candidates will possess a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a similar degree at the Masters level or higher. Additional desired experience includes Agile and advanced format development. An active TS/SCI clearance is preferred. Digital Receiver Technology (DRT) based in Germantown, MD designs and manufactures high-performance Software Defined Radios (SDR) for wireless test and synthetic instrumentation solutions. DRT was acquired by The Boeing Company in December 2008.
