Are you a big kid at heart?! We are seeking Lead Teachers for our Before & After Care program for our k-5th school-age programs at our Darnestown Campus! This position will pay $21-25/hour based on experience and credentialsGeorgetown Hill Early School is a non-profit school serving Maryland families' preschool, elementary, and childcare needs since 1980.

Darnestown - is just minutes from the Kentlands neighborhood and exciting Downtown Crown!Bells Mill/Potomac - located between Bells Mill Elementary School and Cabin John Middle School, near the Cabin John Shopping center!This position may be full or part-time with scheduling needs of M-F 7am-9:
30am and M-F 3pm-6pm, up to 40 hours.
Your role will be to meet the needs of our K-5th students who join us before and after school and on days when public schools are closed.
What You Will Do:
Providing fun and enjoyable activities and experiences for children outside of their school requirementsProvide for educational needs and interests of elementary children via homework help and assistance with school workSupervision of children to assure the health, welfare, and safety of all studentsDemonstrate effective leadership among the before & after care teamDemonstrate effective communication skills and positive interpersonal relations with children, families, colleagues, and communityManage the before & after care program in a way that fosters a consistent, safe, and positive environment for all students and staffRequirements:
Our ideal candidate must have 1-3 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:
MSDE 45hr School Age certificationExcellent understanding of the principles of child development and teaching methodsStrong knowledge of MSDE regulationsA personal demeanor that is warm, friendly, and cool-temperedProficient technological skills to utilize various productivity toolsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including grammar and reading skillsExtremely reliable in attendance and punctualityHighly organized and able to prioritize and multi-taskTeam-oriented and willing to work with othersPer Maryland State Department of Education Office of Child Care regulations, all applicants must submit to and successfully pass a state and federal background check as a contingency of employment.
