Summary Help patients improve or maintain their health by focusing on Nutrition.
Focus on health care and coordinate care plans with Providers.
As a Dietitian, assist patients in understanding the importance of adjusting their diet as part of managing their overall health.
Review their current treatment and customize a nutrition care program.
Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Evaluates and assesses nutrition status of patients, and screens patients for nutritional risk in accordance with established protocols and standards.

Confer with and coordinate with supervisors for nutritional care of all patients 3.
Plans and initiates medical nutrition therapy to patients if indicated by patient requirements 4.
Review and recommend appropriate nutrition resources, programs or services specific to unit or patient population and patient needs 5.
Certifies patients for specific program benefits.
6.
Educates and counsels patients on nutritional issues 7.
Communicates individual nutritional care plans to other health care providers as a member of a health care team.
8.
Performs various administrative duties related to public health nutrition programs.
