Reporting to the Director Surgery, this role serves as nurse educator for the Surgery Department/OR providing training and educational resources to all staff that work in the surgery environment.
An innovator in minimally invasive surgery, Holy Cross Hospital was first in Montgomery County to offer robotic surgery with the da Vinci surgical system.
Responsibilities:
Designing, implementing, and evaluating both patient-specific and population-based programs of care.
Providing leadership in advancing the practice of nursing to achieve quality and cost-effective patient outcomes as well as provide leadership of multidisciplinary groups in designing and implementing innovative alternative solutions that address system problems and/or patient care issues.
Providing clinical teaching and supervision, directing patient assignment for new and experienced staff.
Directing and providing staff development, including training and orientation.
What you will needRequired:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program Master's degree - clinical or non-clinical focus.
Teaching experience preferred.
Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
National certification in clinical specialty required - must be acquired by the end of the probationary 6th month period to remain in the role (role certification preferred) AHA BLS and/or ACLS Instructor Status preferred.
Minimum five (5) years related clinical experience.
Demonstrated skills at the level of an advanced practice nurse as evidenced by portfolio, recommendation letters, references, interview, and demonstration.
In leadership, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and change To utilize evidence to develop, teach, guide, and implement practice standards and policies.
Demonstrated ability at the level of an advanced practice nurse Available to meet educational needs on all shifts.
Computer skills using various applications:
Internet, email, word processing, presentation, and database.
