Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking an Environmental Project Manager for PFAS investigation and remediation projects with a focus on firm-fixed-price and cost-plus fixed fee contracting primarily for US Federal clients.
The Project Manager will lead projects across multiple AECOM operations and engage various subject matter experts and disciplines.
This is a full-time position and will be based out of one of our Project Management Offices in Arlington, VA, Germantown, MD, or Buffalo, NY.
Candidate must be able to travel up to 20% of the time to projects nationwide.
The AECOM Project Manager is responsible for managing projects and major tasks to achieve specified objectives and involves the overall planning, coordination with staff and clients, and control of projects/ tasks from inception to completion.
Responsibility includes managing projects and major tasks that will be completed on time, within authorized scope and budget, and meet all required quality and safety parameters.
Responsibilities of this position, which may vary slightly, include the following:
Obtain AECOM Project Management Certification within two years of onboarding.
Collaborate with project teams and management in the development of strategies and plans.
Serve as primary client point of contact on a variety of projects.
Provide overall management and administration to projects and assisting in establishing project-specific objectives and policies.
Support federal proposals.
Provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforce company and project policies, maintain close client interface, and ensure all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
Work mostly independently but receive basic guidance on specific assignments, objectives, complex features, contract management, and financial performance.
Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
May supervise junior/ mid-level engineers and scientists (all disciplines applicable), as well as project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating, and procurement representatives.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:
BA/BS +2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
Valid US Driver's License is requiredPreferred
Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geologist (PG), and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) with 5 years of environmental project experience, including experience with firm-fixed-price investigation projects.
Demonstrated experience in FFP & CPFF remediation as well as CERCLA projects.
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check; many projects/clients are security sensitive.
Demonstrated experience with DoD clients.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.

CompensationExempt Position:
Offered rate of compensation New York locations will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
