From students, faculty, to parents, community members, media, and staff, athletic directors must interact with an array of groups on and off campus.
In addition, the Athletic Director is responsible for maintaining the order and cleanliness of the Katie Fitzgerald Ceters facility.
The typical list of qualifications and skills can include:
Athletic Director Job ResponsibilitiesAdminister guidance for sports programming.
Confer with coaches to establish games, events, and practice schedules.
Work closely with Sports Committee Commissioners to establish teams and build rosters in accordance with ADW and MoN policy.
Select, recruit, and oversee coaching staff with the Sports Committee Commissioners.
Maintain orderly, clean, and safe facilities and equipment, including fieldsDiscuss student eligibility with school administrators.
Develop and regulate the budget and appropriate spending for equipment, facilities, and rentalsAthletic directors can expect to work evenings and weekends, with hours depending on the time of year and the kind of sports your program participates in.
Maintain and develop relationships with current and prospective vendorsCollaborate with PE staff to manage and schedule weekly middle school intramuralsSupport PE StaffServe as PE SubstituteAssist with Field DaysSupport Camps during the June, July, and August monthsOther Duties as AssignedAthletic Director Qualifications and SkillsStrong interpersonal communicationAbility to manage relationships with coaches, school administrators, and the publicSkilled at providing motivation and direction to the coachesA resourceful leader that delegates tasks effectivelyConference attendance and ongoing professional development are necessaryStrong analytical, administrative, and multitasking skillsA proven track record with creating and overseeing an athletic departments strategic.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
